Students’ Intuitive Theories of Parenting Change after a Course in Developmental Psychology

Keyword: TeachingAbstract: This study explored how Developmental Psychology courses influence students' intuitive theories of parenting and child development (n = 77). Using the Early Parenting Attitudes Questionnaire, we found significant shifts in students' beliefs, particularly regarding autonomy. Results suggest that academic instruction can alter intuitive beliefs, with implications for parenting practices.
