Empathic Concern, Not Perspective-Taking, Predicts Egalitarian Attitudes at Work

Keyword: Workplace DiversityAbstract: We examined how emotional and cognitive empathy predict egalitarian workplace attitudes among 200 full-time employees. Empathic Concern significantly predicted lower social dominance orientation. A gender moderation effect showed Perspective-Taking was more predictive for men. Findings offer insight into empathy's role in shaping workplace attitudes and guiding employee development.
