Bilingualism Shapes Emotional Processes: Integrating Perspectives across Psychological Science
The present symposium examines the relations between bilingualism and emotion. We integrate cognitive, sociocultural, clinical, and developmental perspectives to demonstrate how bilingualism impacts a range of affective processes (emotion perception, expression, regulation, and socioemotional adjustment) with an overarching goal of identifying mechanisms underlying the language-emotion link.
