Moderate to High Empathic Concern Associated with High Levels of Happiness

Abstract

Using three reliable self-report measures, our study found that moderate and high levels of empathic concern are associated with both higher levels of cognitive and affective happiness, though very high levels of empathy are associated with a slight dip in cognitive happiness (i.e., a significant negative decelerating quadratic association).
