Increases in stress-induced salivary alpha amylase (sAA), salivary cortisol (sC), and state anxiety were examined among 29 female college students. Increases in sC and state anxiety were obtained. High parental overprotection influenced sC increase. Findings point to the role of parental overprotection in elevated stress responses.
