Aspects of Depression Identity Vary in Their Relationships with Stigma and Symptom Severity

Drawing from theory in social identification, the current found that depression stigma significantly predicted depression severity, but aspects of social identification did not mediate the relationship. Results highlight the need for more specific and advanced analysis to understand the complex relationships between stigma, identity, and depression.
