Abstract
This investigation explores whether children’s educational television has positive impacts on parents. Parents of preschool-aged children (N=37) co-viewed either Curious George or The Backyardigans. Results demonstrated that parents felt more confident teaching their children skills emphasized in the programs. Parents’ television mediation styles correlated with perceptions of the program’s usefulness.
