Abstract

This study aims to qualify how colors affect subjective roughness and hardness. Participants reported subjective values of hardness and roughness for material samples, which are physically controlled in hardness and roughness. The results imply that blue color amplified subjective roughness, and the colors associated subjective hardness depending on physical hardness.
