A440 and A432 in Musical Tunings Have Differential Psychophysiological Effects – Implication for Music Therapy

Thirty-one-healthy-volunteers listened to four 3-minute-long music files (cello- A440; cello-A432, violin-A440; & violin-A432). A# indicates frequency (Hz) of tuning of A-note in the middle. State anxiety was significantly lower after cello-A432, while EEG beta power at F8 (right temporal lobe) was significantly higher during music-pieces in A432 than in A440.
