Abstract
This study tested whether parental reliance on ineffective emotion regulation (maladaptive ER) strategies moderates familial transmission of Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) reactivity to distress. As hypothesized, maladaptive ER repertoires potentiated the transmission of SNS hyperarousal between parents and offspring. Clinical implications will be discussed.
