Integrating Mental & Maternal Healthcare in NYC: Training Healthcare Providers in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for Perinatal Depression

Perinatal depression is a common debilitating condition that remains untreated despite patients’ contact with medical settings. This study tested the feasibility of learning and implementing Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Perinatal Depression in OB/GYN settings. IPT was found to be feasible, sustainable, relevant for the population, and effective in addressing symptoms.
