Abstract
Parent control was associated with elevated depressive symptoms among a sexually and ethnically/racially diverse sample of emerging adults. In particular, father support was associated with fewer depressive symptoms among emerging adults who reported lower father control. Feeling supported, and not controlled, by their fathers promotes wellbeing among emerging adults.
