Unrealistic Optimism and Psychological Wellbeing in College Freshman

The proposed study will examine whether unrealistic optimism of mental health risk at the beginning of the first year of college predicts actual engagement in mental health promoting behaviors and psychological wellbeing during the first year. The study has implications for identifying at-risk students and developing interventions.
