Understanding Stigmas of Mental Healthcare and Moral Injury in the Military and Their Relationship to the Chaplaincy

This study will conduct a qualitative analysis of individual veteran’s perceptions of mental healthcare stigma and of potential stigmas of the treatment schema moral injury. Preliminary results suggest that significant barriers prevent utilization of mental health services, but moral injury is viewed as a good target for individualized care.
