Abstract
Hemodialysis for End-stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) requires extensive and regular social interactions between multi-disciplinary healthcare providers and their patients. This study found higher self-reported social performance of African American ESKD patients predicted higher ESKD management self-efficacy and lower depressive symptoms, medication non-adherence, and serum phosphorus, an important ESKD biomarker.
