Abstract
Negative life events vary widely and may not be captured by objective measures. Results found self-reported negative life events do not significantly overlap with objective measures of trauma. Current depressive symptoms, loneliness, and perceived stress predict reported impact of events on current life, suggesting modulation by current emotional state.
