Abstract

Biopsychosocial factors that can help predict antidepressant treatment response are misunderstood, and rarely considered together in biomedical research. We propose that measuring allostatic load - a cumulative multisystem index of biological strain associated with chronic stress - can help better explain antidepressant treatment response rates in individuals with mood disorders.
