A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Transdiagnostic Predictors of Stress Generation

Prior research suggests transdiagnostic vulnerabilities for psychopathology contribute to stress generation. We conducted the first meta-analytic review of this literature to date. Results indicate a broad range of cognitive, interpersonal, and personality vulnerabilities prospectively predict both dependent (i.e., self-generated) and, to a lesser extent, independent (i.e., fateful) episodic life stress.
