Abstract

A 6 month longitudinal study examined the relationship between prenatal depressive symptoms and post-partum parenting stress in a sample of 60 primiparous mothers recruited during their last trimester of pregnancy. Results indicated that prenatal depressive symptoms predicted diminished feelings of parenting competence and greater role restriction.
