Abstract
Across three experiments, students studied brief educational texts in preparation for a delayed test. Experiment 1 replicated the retrieval practice effect and demonstrated that more multiple-choice retrieval practice was better than less. Experiments 2 and 3 demonstrated that students underuse multiple-choice retrieval practice despite its benefits on learning.
