Abstract
College alcohol use leads to many adverse outcomes. Protective behavior strategies (PBS) are effective at reducing alcohol use and problems. Perceptions of PBS use has been suggested to improve efficacy. This study presents further evidence that perceptions of effectiveness and importance of PBS are associated with lower consumption and problems.
