Abstract

A one-way between-subjects design comparing the effect of using a skeletal outline or blank document to take notes, or taking no notes found there was no difference in learning outcomes between the three groups, but effort and enjoyment significantly differed, indicating students’ preference for taking notes during an online lecture.
