Abstract
How do we narrow our attention to focus on task relevant information? Here we propose that affective stimulus devaluation, a known index of the involvement of inhibition of visual information, can be used with global/local perception tasks to provide converging support for the hypothesis that attentional narrowing involves inhibition.
