Abstract

Here we explored how adaptation to facial feature motion depends on synchrony and facial orientation. Asynchronous mouth and eyebrow motion and inversion appeared to release facial features, allowing feature motion to be susceptible to adaptation. Synchrony appeared to holistically group facial features, protecting feature motion from adaptation and inversion.
