Abstract
College students (N=117) identified emotions presented in a series of photos of masked and unmasked models depicting eight facial expressions. Our study replicates Carbon (2020) and finds that wearing facemasks strongly effects recognition of disgust, contempt, sadness, fear, and happiness but not anger or surprise or neutral expressions.
