Nostalgia's Positive Effects and Its Practical Implications on Bereavement

This study examines the practical benefits of nostalgia for enhancing positive affect and optimism in those experiencing bereavement related distress. We also explore whether the kind of bereavement (human/animal) and the nature of nostalgia evoked – specific nostalgia related to the deceased or generic nostalgia, elicit differential impacts.
