Multiple Numeric Competencies Predict Decision Outcomes Beyond Fluid Intelligence and Cognitive Reflection

Abstract
We investigated the role of various cognitive abilities in superior decision making. Approximate numeracy was the most robust predictor of decision outcomes. Multiple numeric competencies predicted decision making beyond fluid intelligence. Multiple numeric competencies predicted decisions beyond cognitive reflection. Multiple numeric competencies were related to better memory of decision outcomes.
