Higher Levels of Coping Self-Efficacy and Positive Stress Mindset Predict Lower Levels of Stress in Parents of Children with ASD.

Research suggests that parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder experience high parenting stress. This study investigates critical variables associated with parental stress. Forty seven parents completed a survey. Hierarchical linear regression results confirmed our hypothesis that coping self-efficacy and positive stress mindset predicted perceived stress; interestingly, resilience did not.
