Abstract

The present study found a significant correlation between social defeat and group belongingness among LGBTQ+ individuals. This relationship was not significant among non-LGBTQ+ individuals. These results imply that group belongingness may be uniquely important to LGBTQ+ individuals in protecting against social defeat.
