Youth Emotional Attachments to the Maid: Relation to Negative Parenting Styles and Mental Health in a Gulf Country

In wealthy GCC countries, most families have live-in maids who serve as both housekeepers and nannies. In the current study, emotional closeness to the maid predicted negative parenting dimensions (APQ-15) and increased mental health concerns (SDQ) in a representative community based sample of Arabic speaking youth.
