Abstract
Osteoarthritis affects Black and White individuals at an equal rate of 45%; however, Black patients undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) surgery less often than White patients. The proposed research will experimentally investigate the potential impact of implicit racial bias among orthopedic surgeons on recommendations for TKA surgery.
