Abstract
This study examined parental engagement in recreational activities with their adolescent child as a mediator between changes in income during COVID-19 and parent-child relationship closeness. Results showed that declines in family income negatively predicted later relationship closeness, but that time engaged in parent-adolescent recreational activities significantly mediated this association.
