Abstract
Bringing advances in word embeddings applied to archival text, this projects offers a methodological tutorial and original psychological case study to understand historical attitude change. Using 200 years of text (1800-1990), we newly demonstrate that attitudes towards 62 socially-stigmatized identities are strongly negative and have remained remarkably persistent across time.
