Abstract
We hypothesized increased self-efficacy would increase stress resistance, which we predicted would mediate a decrease in depressive symptoms. The attempt to manipulate self-efficacy through vicarious experience was not successful. However, correlational analyses supported the mediational model, supporting further investigation into this model and the development of better self-efficacy manipulations.
