Working Memory Capacity and Dual Mechanisms of Cognitive Control: An Experimental-Correlational Approach

In two experiments, we used an experimental-correlational approach to experimentally induce reactive and proactive control in the AX-CPT and test their relationship with working memory capacity. Though proactive and reactive shifts were experimentally induced, the relationship between WMC and proactive control performance was absent, which is contrary to previous research.
