Abstract
College students rated the bigotry of two different statements; however, the speaker was manipulated. Perceived bigotry depended in part on the speaker. For instance, Republicans rated the same speech as more racist and xenophobic when attributed to Bill Clinton vs. Donald Trump, while Democrats displayed the opposite trend.
