Abstract

Findings from the population-based Generation R Study showed that the accumulation of multiple risks was positively associated with emotional and behavioral difficulties in early childhood. Healthy functioning of the family compensated for the effect of cumulative risk on emotional difficulties, underscoring its potential to help early prevention and intervention efforts.
