Individual Differences in Joint Attention Are Associated with Emotion Recognition and Social Conformity

Abstract
Joint attention plays a fundamental role in the development of social competence. Here, we tested associations between the joint-attention effect (JAE) and higher social cognition, and found that individuals with greater JAE showed higher accuracy in emotion recognition and a propensity to conform to group opinions.
