The Relations of Parental Romantic Attachment and the Emotional Socialization of Their Children’s Positive Emotions in Middle Childhood

We evaluated relations between parents’ romantic attachments and parental emotion socialization strategies of children’s positive emotions in 112 mother-child dyads and 61 fathers. Although associations of romantic attachment styles between couples existed, there were no significant relations with emotion socialization, thus, romantic attachment and child attachment may have different outcomes.
