Abstract
Personal space was established when individuals showed happy, neutral, and angry faces. We added four expressions—surprise, sad, afraid, and disgust. Participants felt comfortable to positive faces regardless of gender—angry, disgusted, afraid, sad, surprised, neutral, and happy, from greatest to shortest distance. People distance themselves from those who show negative emotions.
