The Importance of Facial Features: We May Differentially Rely on Internal Versus External Features When Recognizing Faces That Vary in Familiarity and Race

In this study, we use an online card sorting task to investigate the differential use of internal and external features for the recognition of faces that vary in familiarity and race. We expect to find a greater reliance on internal features for familiar faces and external features for unfamiliar faces.
