Abstract

Previous studies report that social categories, including gender, cue context-driven control. However, existing manipulations confound control and contingency learning. Here, control and contingency accounts are contrasted through the inclusion of diagnostic (unbiased) stimuli. Across two experiments we find no evidence for gender-based context-driven control.
