Meaning and Purpose, Social Support, and Gratitude As Protective Factors in Couples Undergoing a Diagnostic Biopsy

This study examined whether protective factors prior to undergoing a biopsy impact psychological wellbeing among patients and their partners following the receipt of diagnostic results. Results indicate that gratitude, social support, and meaning and purpose predicted lower depressive symptoms. Gratitude also predicted higher positive affect.
