Abstract
How are ethnic minority job candidates with standard English accents perceived when their vocal confidence level varies? When participants saw East Asian or European faces paired with a confident or doubtful tone of voice, job suitability ratings were modulated by a speaker’s vocal confidence level, ethnicity, and other social traits.
