Abstract
Limited research has examined the underlying mechanism accounting for the negative association between perceived discrimination and executive functions (EF) in middle-aged and older adults. By analyzing the MIDUS 2 dataset using structural equation modeling, we found that discrimination significantly aggravated perceived constraints, which in turn impaired EF.
