An Empirical Investigation of Using Gender Pronouns to Signal Identity Safety Transfer

We assessed whether gender pronouns signaled identity safety to populations outside the LGBTQ+ community. Participants were randomly assigned to view a fictitious company’s intern profile with or without gender pronouns present, and rate feelings of organizational attraction, commitment, and trust and comfort. No statistically significant differences across condition were found.
