National Narcissism Is Associated with the Spread of Conspiracy Theories during Public Health Crises: Evidence from 54 Countries.

In three surveys, conducted in 54 countries (N= 47,227), we found that national narcissism –an inflated belief in the greatness of one’s nation– is associated with the belief and dissemination of COVID-19 conspiracy theories. Belief in these ideas was related to less health behaviors and less support for public-health policies.
