Emotion Expression, Stress, and Trauma Symptoms in Urban, African American Children

This study examined stress exposure as a moderator of the association between child reluctance to express emotion and trauma symptoms in children ages 8-12. Results indicate that expressive reluctance related to trauma symptoms at medium and high, but not low, levels of stressful event exposure.
