Perceived Insider Status and the Pursuit of Supervisor Favoritism: The Moderating Effect of Differential Leadership

Abstract
This study investigated the close and favoritism supervisor-subordinate relationship in the Chinese context. The results showed that (a) perceived insider status was negatively associated with the ostracization of insiders; (b) prevention focus mediated the above relationship; (c) perceived insider status related to prevention focus stronger under high differential leadership.
