Abstract
We examined culture and gender effects in social anxiety. By focusing on European and Asian Canadians, the current study demonstrated that levels of masculinity, independence, and interdependence shape individuals’ susceptibility to social anxiety. Our findings highlight the importance of considering culture and gender in mental health research, practice, and policy.
